Hi,
I have been using another 3rd party dbExpress component for AS/400 DB2 access, and it comes with a DCU to allow the alternative of a "uses" clause to compile a single EXE (the DLL then not required to redistribute).
Can you provide the same, to avoid the need to redistribute the seperate DLL?
PS: Interestingly enough the AS/400 dbExpress component is freeware, however yours is the only Sybase component I have found.
I don't mind having to register, however for the money you are asking I would have hoped for at least the same level of functionality as a similar freeware AS/400 dbExpress component provides.
Thanks in advance

Hello.
The last installation package contains DCU as well as DLL.
So you can compile a standalone executable. |

Thanks. Apologies, my oversight!
However I note it only appears to be documented in the "latest changes" list.
Is this DCU compatible with all supported versions of Delphi?
I ask because the AS/400 dbExpress component I have seems to supply a different DCU for each Delphi version (eg: 6.0, 6.03 etc.). Although I don't know why there would be a difference required between Delphi 6 update versions?
If testing goes well, I shall probably register in the next few days.
Thanks again

I haven't had any luck using this as yet!
If I drop the DCU into my Delphi LIB folder and include it in the "uses" clause, I get a can't find dbexpsyb.pas error when I try and compile.
I am using Delphi 6 with all the latest patches (Update 2 and RTL 3).
I did the same thing with the AS/400 dbExpress DCU, and it compiled without any problems, so I don't understand why it is looking for the .pas source (unless the DCU is not valid for my Delphi version?).

| Send a mail to support@visoco.com. We'll resend you a DCU compiled with Delphi6. |

Hi,
I have since updated to Delphi 7, and have been able to successfully use the supplied Delphi 7 compiled DCU.
However, I have now applied the latest Delphi 7 update 1 pack from the Borland web site, and the Delphi 7 DCU is no linger compatible.
Likewise, the provider of my AS/400 dbExpress component, has recently released an update that now includes a seperate DCU for Delphi 7.01 (as they previously had to do for Delphi 6.03 update).
Can you please provide a compiled DCU compatible with the update 1 pack for Delphi 7, so I can continue to use with Delphi 7.
Regards
